Research Paper
There are people that question why bad things happen to good people.  Also, some people wonder how Christians can believe in a God that is good if He lets bad things happen to Christians or other good people.  Or how can Christians worship the God in the Bible that commanded people to slaughter other people.  For example in the Bible, God told Moses and his brother that they could not go into the Promise Land because Moses struck the rock out of anger instead of speaking to it.  God commanded Moses to talk to the rock and water would come out, but Moses was fed up the Israelites and struck the rock twice.  God was angry with Moses and his brother because they did not believe in Him and therefore forbidden to enter into the Promise Land.  Another example is when God let Terrorists crash into the Twin Towers and many people died and lost families.  Some of the things that God lets happen does not make sense.
We all wonder why God does what He does or lets things happen.  God punished the Israelites by exile, enslavement, and defeats at battles.  Some people think that Hurricane Katrina was God’s judgment on the city.  God’s way of justice or judgment is hard to distinguish.  Does God punish out of anger or love or both?  How can we make sense of God through the examples throughout the Bible and past or present events?

  2. I like where you're going with this. I'm just a tad bit confused on the format. Are you asking questions without questions marks in the first paragraph or making statements? It seems a bit broad at the beginning but I like how you narrow it down at the end and ask your research question. Keep up the good work!

  3. This is a very interesting approach! I commend you for tackling such a thought provoking idea such as God's motives. It is hard to really trust in God when we see all of these bad things happening in the world, and it seems like no good comes of it all. I completely agree with your statement that God's way of posing judgment on his people is hard to distinguish. I look forward to hearing how you answer these questions!

  4. I think God, like our parents, punishes us when we disobey what He tells us to do like with Moses but with the trade towers I don't understand how or why bad things happen to good people. Some people have said that when bad things happen they are just trials God's putting us through to test our faith.
